Spybot Search and Destroy

Ignore False Alarms and Un-Ignore Entries Later Found to be Actual Spyware

SUMMARY: Keep Spybot Search and Destroy from re-detecting false alarms, or have Spybot redetect previously ignored entries.

There may be times when you want Spybot Search and Destroy to ignore a particular threat entry. Perhaps the threat seems like a false alarm, or it may be a cookie you need to keep.

If you need to ignore an entry so it will no longer appear in the threats results page, right-click on the entry and choose "Exclude this detection from further searches".

If, however, after ignoring an entry, you later realize you need Spybot Search and Destroy to find and remove a particular threat, cookie, usage track, etc., you can un-ignore the entry by doing the following:

1. Click "Mode", selecting "Advanced Mode".

2. Click "Settings" in the left pane.

3. Click "Ignore single entries" in the right pane.

4. Right-click on the detection you want Spybot Search and Destroy to once again find and select "Remove this exclude from the list". Repeat as necessary.
